Mayon Volcano emits white smoke; Alert Level 1 raised


Mayon Volcano continued to emit thick smoke on Wednesday, a report on Unang Balita on Thursday said. Although no volcanic earthquakes were reported, the volcano is still regarded as being in an abnormal state. Alert Level 1 remains raised over Camalig, Albay. Under Alert Level 1, residents are prohibited from entering the six-kilometer permanent danger zone. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology is monitoring a possible ash explosion which may happen anytime. —KG, GMA News
